Raymond Joseph Pechous

On August 18th, 2021, we missing a husband, father, brother, uncle, trainer and buddy, Raymond Joseph Pechous. Ray was a tireless advocate for youngsters and considered that education and learning was the route to impression the life of pupils as a result of uncovering their concealed possible. He was 76 yrs aged.
His recognizable chuckle was nothing but contagious and was usually adopted by hilarious wit. His devoted faith in God was infused with his work in Catholic school administration. His function as a servant well prepared him well for everlasting everyday living.
Ray, also regarded as “termite” to his four older siblings, was the youngest of five small children born to George and Celeste (Lynch) Pechous. He graduated from Regina Large College in 1963 and went on to get a BA from St. Ambrose University and earned two MA degrees from Ambrose and College of Iowa. Ray started out instructing in the North Scott Community educational institutions and ongoing to devote his career in elementary schooling with positions at the Marshalltown Catholic universities Davenport’s St. Paul the Apostle, St. Alphonsus, and Sacred Coronary heart Schools. Most not too long ago, he served as the Regina High College Principal, St. A’s Elementary Principal in Jesup, and taught at Kirkwood Neighborhood Faculty in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City until finally his retirement in 2018.
In the course of his vocation in schooling he was passionate about bringing the arts to the forefront of the universities. He directed several performs and musicals, in certain, he wrote and directed the musical, “SHORTER THAN MOST” about a basketball crew that ended up shorter than all the other groups, but received the games with their hearts and wits. Ray married the lady of his desires, Mary Elizabeth Mack on December 30th, 1967 in Viola, IL in the middle of a snowstorm. Their 54 years of relationship produced 6 small children, 12 grandchildren and numerous fireplace chats.
He will be skipped unbelievably by his wife Mary and his small children Patrick, Donald and Nicki, Celeste, Timothy and Brittany, and Emily and Dan Hartzler. He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren Olivia, Owen, Ryan, Paul, Leo, Maeve, Jude, Josie, Charlie, Haddie, Sully and Eloise and celebrated by his brother Paul and Nancy Pechous sister Margaret and Tom Goss brother-in-regulation Jerry Irving sister-in-legislation Marilyn Pechous as very well as many nieces and nephews, and countless close friends.
He was welcomed home by his mom and father, his sister Mary Ellen (Nicky), his brother Ed, his son Jeff, and that “#%!” puppy Mikey.
A celebration of Ray’s existence will be held on Monday, August 23rd with a visitation for loved ones and buddies from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m, adopted by a Mass at 5:00 p.m. at St. Thomas A lot more Catholic Church in Coralville. A reception will be held specifically immediately after in the Parish Corridor.
